Ana Hernandez

As a senior at Steinbrenner High School, driven by a passion for nursing and a vision of owning a med spa to spread beauty and positivity, Ana aspires to perfect mental health advocacy and amplify voices in her community. As the founder of "Care For Kids," her club crafts mental health-themed care packages, touching over 600 students in Hillsborough County with stress-relieving items and messages of support. Additionally, Ana serves as the mental health representative at Steinbrenner, organizing fundraisers and events like hello week to promote awareness and combat stigma. In fostering inclusivity, she leads the Spanish Honor Society, uniting Spanish-speaking students to celebrate their shared culture and heritage.

Participating in presentations with Brighter Times and Tori Leto has significantly enhanced my resilience skills as a high school senior. Tori's personal story, which she generously shared with my club and countless students, resonated deeply with many of us. Despite the uniqueness of each person's experiences, her life skills and journey have connected with us on a fundamental level, reminding us of the universality of human struggles and the power of resilience in overcoming them. Through these presentations, I've gained invaluable insights and strategies for navigating challenges with strength and perseverance, fostering a newfound resilience that will serve me well beyond high school.


Throughout my high school journey, Brighter Times and Tori Leto have played pivotal roles in my personal growth and development. Tori's mentorship has been instrumental in teaching me invaluable lessons on resilience and self-acceptance. She possesses a remarkable ability to convert negative experiences into learning opportunities, normalizing the ups and downs of life. Through her guidance, I've learned to confront stigma and embrace challenges with a newfound sense of courage. Tori's passion for fostering a supportive community has empowered me to become an advocate for mental health awareness, equipping me with the tools to navigate life's complexities with grace and authenticity.


Reflecting on my experiences, I can vividly recall the profound impact of Brighter Times and Tori Leto on my outlook and achievements. The first encounter with Tori stands out as a transformative moment in my high school journey. Tori's impassioned presentation captivated the room, compelling me to reevaluate my own life choices and priorities. Despite addressing a large audience, her words resonated with a personal resonance, fostering an immediate connection. This encounter marked the beginning of a meaningful relationship with Tori and the introduction of Brighter Times to the Steinbrenner High School community. Through her tireless efforts, Tori not only established Brighter Times as a beacon of support but also championed mental health awareness within our school clubs by adding her own club!

To organizations and community leaders considering investing in the Brighter Times curriculum, I would have a lot to say. Tori Leto's unwavering dedication and visionary leadership have propelled Brighter Times to the forefront of mental health advocacy, creating tangible change in the lives of countless individuals. Alabama Allen

Alabama Allen is a senior at Steinbrenner High School, actively engaging in a multitude of clubs and organizations including Beta Club, National Honor Society (NHS), FCA, Best Buddies, Student Government, the Class of 2024, and the Student Advisory Council. Beyond her extensive extracurricular involvement, Alabama has a clear vision for her future. Following graduation, she plans to attend the University of South Florida (USF) with the goal of becoming a nurse. Majoring in Health Sciences, Alabama aims to merge her passion for healthcare with her desire to positively impact others' lives, demonstrating her commitment to contributing meaningfully to the field of nursing and beyond.

When I watched Tori present about her past struggles and how she tackled them to achieve her current successes, it really hit home for me. It made me realize that the challenges I've faced in the past shouldn't hold me back from reaching my goals.


Tori not only gave me some great coping strategies but also showed me that everyone goes through tough times, especially in high school. She made herself relatable by sharing her own struggles and how she managed to get through them. Seeing her overcome obstacles and become something amazing is super motivating for me.


High school can feel like a constant battle for many of us, but programs like Brighter Times are here to help. They encourage us to reflect positively on our experiences and set goals for the future, which is so important.


Supporting Brighter Times isn't just about helping Tori chase her dreams; it's about giving students like me the tools we need to succeed. The program creates a supportive environment where we can grow and work through our struggles together. With this kind of support, I truly believe that more students will be able to overcome their mental health challenges and reach their full potential.
